Maia Ramnath is the founder and artistic director of Constellation Moving Company, creating multi-disciplinary aerial-dance-theater-video assemblages since 2010 at venues including Theater for the New City, Dixon Place, Circus Warehouse, The Muse’s Artist in Residency program, and the Dzul International Dance Festival in Campeche, Mexico. Maia was the recipient of the Bindlestiff First of May award in 2019. As a freelance aerialist and modern dancer Maia has worked with many artists including Yonder Window Theater Company, Pat Catterson/Nine Lives Dance, Hybrid Movement Company, Fly By Night Aerial Dance Theater, the Neo-Political Cowgirls, the Merce Cunningham apprentice company, and others. Maia is also a writer, editor, teacher and historian.
